Yorkshire’s Bengal Brasserie Becomes Spicy New Addition to the Merrion Centre
Bengal Brasserie is an award winning specialist Indian and Bengali restaurant. Established in Yorkshire for more than 25 years, its diverse menu offers diners the option to sit in and enjoy top quality Indian and Bengali dishes for dinner or to take-away. The Leeds opening will create 25 new jobs in its 3,600 sq ft location, with a capacity for serving 120 people.
The Merrion Centre is excited to announce that it is further expanding its offering of world cuisines as it becomes the first city centre location for popular Indian cuisine restaurant, Bengal Brasserie.
The latest premises will open on Merrion Way, opposite the First Direct Arena, in Spring 2017.
Bengal Brasserie is just the latest opening at the Merrion Centre following the launch of six new brands in the longest established shopping centre in Leeds over the last 12 months, including: Smoke Barbecue, The Pastry House and the Official Leeds United club store.
The arrival, representing a £400,000 investment, marks another new development at the Merrion Centre within the city’s Arena Quarter leisure destination, home to a wide-ranging and exciting mix of retail and leisure outlets.
“Following on from the launch of our newly refurbished restaurants in Leeds, Wetherby and York, the Merrion Centre was a clear choice for us when planning our expansion to the city centre. The restaurant will be our largest in Leeds, and will include a private lounge area for up to 40 people. The vibrant and diverse range of restaurants, shops and offices in addition to its proximity to lots of city centre residents makes it an inviting location for our new venture.”
– Malik Dobir, Director of Bengal Brasserie
Helen Green, Associate Director at Town Centre Securities, owner of the Merrion Centre, said: “Bengal Brasserie will make an exciting addition to the centre, building on our already popular and varied food and drink offering. Restaurants such as this opening in the Merrion Centre help build and maintain the reputation of Leeds as a leader in terms of a culinary capital, and attract new customers to the Arena Quarter.
“We’ve welcomed a host of exciting new tenants over the past 12 months and our footfall figures reflect this. Customers continue to be attracted to the destination which combines great value shopping and leisure with a modern approach.”
Bengal Brasserie’s affordable menu will be served from 12pm until 11.30pm and will bring guests Indian food made from the finest ingredients. House specialities include Murg Mohoni, Chicken Deshi and Tandoori Murg Bhuna and include a blend of sweet and spicy flavours.
